Medical Device Bureau Grants Licence Amendment for SUPERA VERITAS® 6 French Stent Delivery System
Lower Profile Provides Easier Operation, Improved Delivery Control and Efficiencies
Webster, Texas, January 3, 2012 – IDEV Technologies, Inc. (IDEV), announced the Medical Device Bureau of Health Canada has amended the medical device licence for the company’s SUPERA VERITAS system to include a 6 French (6Fr) delivery catheter. The new lower profile system is the latest enhancement to the delivery catheter utilized with the unique SUPERA stent, a self-expanding Nitinol stent for peripheral vascular and biliary use.
In addition to having a lower entry profile, the new 6Fr system is available in two catheter lengths, 80 cm and 120 cm, and offers even better efficiency and trackability.
“Physician feedback confirms the new 6Fr system allows for improved ease of use, trackability and control of stent deployment,” commented Christopher M. Owens, President and CEO of IDEV. “As the global market continues to move toward smaller delivery sizes, we believe this new system provides an opportunity to accelerate market expansion and adoption of our technology. We are pleased to now have this product available to our Canadian customers and patients.” The 6Fr system is already in use in the United States, Europe, Australia, and select countries in southeast Asia.
